Volkswagen T25 Hi-roof camper for sale - 1985 (B reg) 4 berth ?

LOCATION: Epsom, Surrey MOT and tax valid until end of October 2012 For sale is a much loved T25 campervan with fixed high roof in blue/white. This is a great van, and a very reluctant sale due to a change in circumstances. I’ve tried to be as comprehensive as possible in the description, but if you have any questions please call - I’m happy to have a chat through any questions. I have receipts for almost all the work done to the van by VW specialists and a good local garage over the last few years. The good points: Mechanically this van is great. The engine runs really well, she will cruise happily at 65-70mph on the motorway (not bad going considering the high roof). As long as she’s driven regularly (every 1-2 weeks), she will start first time. Recent work - a new fuel pump in October last year, no other mechanical issues since then. The bodywork is in pretty good condition. There are some small areas of rust starting to come through (see pictures) that really should be treated sooner rather than later to keep it in check, but overall the panels are really clean. The van has had a respray at some point in the past, I don’t know if there was any previous bodywork or welding done before I owned it, but in the time that I’ve had it (last 5yrs) there certainly hasn’t been. Engine immobiliser T25s are EXEMPT from the London Low Emissions Zone Nice looking interior and comfortable sleeping on both the rock n roll bed and the additional bed in the high roof. Leisure battery, sink, 2 burner hob and grill, 3 way fridge Mains hookup Captain’s swivel seat on front passenger side Stereo system with radio/CD player and most usefully a 3.5mm input jack so you can play an MP3 player/ipod through it. Loads of storage in high roof luggage compartment The bad points: Window seals/rubbers aren’t looking too hot and will probably need replacing soonish. Again this would also help keep rust in check. The main ‘quirk’ of this van is the electrics. They’ve always been a bit tricky, although improved since a full wiring loom replacement ~3yrs ago. However all the important stuff works: lights, indicators, horn, speedo, wipers, radiator fan etc. The temperature gauge is reading too low. This has only happened recently and I haven’t had time to get it fixed. Note: this van has NEVER overheated in all the time I’ve had it, this is purely a gauge issue. I was stuck in a stop-start traffic jam for an hour a couple of weeks ago with the fan kicking in and out to keep the engine cool (as it’s supposed to), she just ticked over fine. Just be scrupulous about checking the oil/coolant levels on a weekly basis and especially before every long trip. The petrol gauge is erratic; you can’t really rely on it to know exactly how much petrol is in there. On the plus side it tends to read a bit too low rather than too high. I worked out the miles per tank-full I get from the van and keep an eye on how far I’ve travelled to be extra sure I don’t run out of petrol. The cab heater fan isn’t working, but when driving the movement is enough to push heat through the vents to the cab/windscreen, so I’ve just lived with it for the last couple of years. Extras included: Fiamma bike rack, carries 2 bikes Huge driveaway tent-style awning, never actually used so in mint condition Van cover worth £80, in OK condition but a couple of tears. One campinggaz 907 gas bottle Please call with any questions or to view/test drive. I have the van on ebay as well (ending 21st July) so she might be gone soon... I can email a link to a few more pictures on request
